Reflection
Designing HittPlan taught me how powerful it is to merge design thinking with industry empathy. Structure and creativity can co-exist. The project transformed a personal frustration into a scalable concept that empowers artists worldwide.
The Challenge
Most rollout planning tools in the music industry are either too complex and costly (like Asana + Airtable integrations) or too limited (basic spreadsheets or Trello boards). Artists needed something built for them a platform that understands the rhythm of creativity and the structure of strategy.
The Process
1. Discovery—Interviewed 10 independent artists to understand frustrations and needs.
2. Competitive Analysis—Benchmarked tools like Wavo, Chartmetric, and Notion to identify gaps and opportunities.
3. User Personas—Created profiles for Indie Artists and Small Label Owners focusing on organization, marketing consistency, and results.
4. Ideation—Sketched wireframes in Miro, designed UI in Figma using a purple/black color palette and rounded typography.
5. Prototype Testing—Conducted usability testing with five artists; refined navigation and visual hierarchy.
HittPlan is a SaaS concept designed under The Culture Lab Marketing & Consulting LLC to help independent artists and small labels organize, track, and execute their music releases from planning to analytics.
As both a music producer (SiddyBeats) and marketing strategist, I recognized a recurring challenge: indie artists lacked affordable, intuitive tools to manage their rollout process from pre-release marketing to post-launch analytics. HittPlan bridges that gap with a centralized platform that merges project management, campaign tracking, and data insights into one easy-to-use dashboard.
